Tokun Hill - June 12 2011

My first hike in 3 weeks after Mt K (yes I am that lazy!).

Located in BM, Tokun Hill is a popular hangout / hiking spot for the old and young. The place is especially packed on weekends, even during the hottest time like 2pm (us two crazies did hike at 2pm a couple of times previously while holding a big umbrella).

Our initial plan was to watch the sunrise, all 7 of us, but it ended up (again) to just the two of us…=_= No problem, we love the number two. Since it is scary to go up in the dark by ourselves, we started the climb at 7am instead. Good time, no crowd although there were still a good number of early birds.

We located the newly built viewing spot about 200m from the peak. Excellent location to catch the sunrise.

Unfortunately, it was a foggy morning and the sun was obscured...

...but the view was still great. The "lake" is the Mengkuang Dam. Felt a sense of tranquility...it was also heartwarming to see there are still lots of trees. We're glad we discovered another side of BM that we haven't seen.

Fascinating creatures, millipedes. Watching the movement of their thousand feet is mesmerizing.

We finished the hike at 9+am and went to KFC for breakfast. Haha not a healthy choice I know, but being an absolute sucker for anything cheese, we just had to try their new Cheesy Bun when we saw the ad, fully knowing that it would turn out disappointing (as usual).

Beautiful, delicious looking picture...well, at least to me!

And reality - (left) cheesy bun, (right) something like a mini McChicken

Verdict - Cheesy Bun & mini "McChicken" fail. McD definitely have better burgers.
